Extreme Cowboy Race - Winter challenge part 2 EXCA of Western Europe

 Everyone knows agility for dogs!

What a treat to see the dogs executing commands while actually playing!

But do you know agility for horses?

This is what Extreme Cowboy Race is all about.

What once started as mimicking daily life on the ranch has grown into a real sport.

What started in the beginning with bars, small jumps, small bridges, has today grown into a real challenge. 

The horses are trained to take every obstacle.

An absolute trust the horse has in its rider makes it a challenge to make the obstacles more interesting and complicated each time.

The course builders therefore make great efforts to stay creative.

Today, the sport is clean and strict rules must be followed.

Each combination of riders is carefully judged by a qualified jury.

Here, both obstacle execution and speed are very important, but the main priority remains maintaining the safety of the horse.

Our horses are part of our duo, we need them and they need us.

Wonderful friendships for life are born here.
